2008 Ladies' Golf Program

The Ladies’ Golf Program for 2008 promises to be entertaining, energetic, educational and most importantly, FUN!

The Ladies’ Golf Committee looks forward to building on the successful programs and events of the prior golf committees. We encourage all the legend ladies’ to make the most out of YOUR club by actively participating in the activities that we have scheduled for the upcoming season.

The program offers three opportunities to play golf every Wednesday plus clinics, special events, opportunities for the non-golfer, encouragement for the reluctant golfer and events on both Friday nights and Saturday afternoons!

This club feels strongly about sponsoring a Ladies Golf Association (LGA) to promote participation and foster companionship among its members…the more members we have, the more we can add to the experience of golfing at The Legend. We encourage all women, whether you’re a beginner or our next club champion, to join us.

Ladies Golf Program Information

Golf Clinics
The professional staff will conduct half-hour clinics Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. and Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m. on select dates beginning May 14th. Clinics will be $10 per person, but your first clinic is FREE--courtesy of the LGA! Each clinic will last approximately 30 minutes, with 2 instructors for each 12-person clinic.

THE "ZERO-HOLE" CLUB
A ladies’ golf program for non-golfers? That’s right, join us Wednesday night’s for ladies’ night and check the calendar for events that let even the non-golfer get out and enjoy the view from the course! If you’d like to drive a golf cart or handle a putter (it’s just like miniature golf—really) we’ve got something for you.

Couple's Golf
Friday Evenings & Saturday Afternoons
Our popular Friday night 9-Hole Couples Golf program has expanded to include a Saturday afternoon 18-Hole Couples Shotgun!
Our Legendary Friday Night Couples Golf is an immensely popular golf and social event. The $60 entry fee includes golf, prizes, and dinner for 2 following play (carts are optional and not included).
Friday night Couples Golf is a party with golf attached!

Our new Saturday afternoon shotgun Couples Golf events include 18 holes of golf and prizes! The nominal team entry fee of $20 all goes toward Golf Shop prizes (Carts are optional and not included). Event formats will change with each event. Why not stay for dinner after golf and prizes?!

2008 Ladies Club Champion, Jane Connor

Ladies' Club Championship
First Round Matches: Wednesday, July 16th
18-Hole Match Play Championship--8:30 a.m. Shotgun
9-Hole Stroke Play Championship--6:00 p.m. Shotgun

The Ladies’ Club Championship is played in a match play format. Match play differs from stroke play in that each hole is scored individually. This format can be extremely competitive, but is also very beginner-friendly, as players can concede a hole at any time, and having an exceptionally bad hole does not dramatically affect the outcome of the match.
First round matches for this bracket-style tournament will be played on July 16th, with the following matches played at a mutally agreed time. Participants will be grouped into several flights based on handicap, so don’t be intimidated to come out and play!
This is an event for those of you who have been working hard all season to improve your game. The golfer with the low gross score is the official Club Champion but we also want to recognize the low net winner. So bring your best game and don’t be shy about entering - that high handicap is your friend in this event! (Note: You will need an official handicap index to be eligible to play in the club championship. Be sure to enter your scores each time you play.)

The Member/Guest event is a time to relax, enjoy the experience and show off your club. To some golf is the focus of the day, to others, the event is about friends being together and enjoying the surroundings. After lunch, wind down and make a whole day of it by joining us at the pool for sunshine and margaritas!

Rally For A Cure^® works together with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in its mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
Pink is in this year! What better reason to host an event than to raise money for a worthwhile charity. Last year the Legend Ladies’ raised an incredible total of $64,000.00 so why not join the LGA Ladies’ and “Tee Off” against Breast Cancer.

End of Season Celebration
Wednesday, September 24th
6 p.m. Dinner and Prizes
We started the year in celebration (of spring, friends, good weather…) and so we should end the year in celebration. The LGA will be hosting a dinner along with a presentation of the season’s event champions and other noteworthy highlights and even the lowlights – “the good, the bad and the ugly”! You’ve already paid for the celebration, so come and enjoy the party. There’s always next year and more of those priceless lessons Dave. Smile and gain comfort in knowing that you donated to all the winners.
